Rear hatch window seal ? on '95 Z28
Wondering if anyone else has had this problem...
My '95 Z28's rear hatch window seal is ozing the sealant/glue from underneath the rubber that surrounds the window. Is this a known issue with LT1 Camaro's or a freak thing with my car? The car only has 35K miles on it and is constantly garaged.

It is a known issue, not just on the LT1 equipped cars. Replace with p/n 10433037 - one piece finishing lace. I guess your car has not see enough hot weather for all the glue to have oozed out by now.

It's just a beauty part. No window seal involved. The new lace is one piece, unlike the original. It comes with sealant applied to the channel that fits on the window edge.

Thanks shoebox. Is there any special trick to removing and replacing the trim? This is for the outside of the window correct? Does the new piece look like the original?

Just do what I did, TEAR IT OFF! It serves no purpose and is just cosmetic. I cut it off and scraped all of the glue off with a razor blade and polished the window. Looks better without it if you ask me. I have seen lots of guys that have taken it off.

Oh, I didn't know that it actually looked good without the seal as I figured there would be a big gully or gap where water and crap would collect. Do you have any pics without the seal in place?

I don't have a real good digital camera but if I can come up with a decent photo, I'll send it to you. I think that it looks better. It took some work to get the gunk off of the painted area where the glass meets the hatch but I think it was worth it,

I'm having the same problem... Could you send me those pics of the rear hatch as well? Hopefully I will think it looks good so I can just rip it off because right now it looks like crap.
