Reccomendations for an exhaust cut out switch?
I have an electric motor on my exhaust cut out. I've been using two little wires connected to a 9v battery to open and close it before I drive, but I want to make a switch to be able to open and close it from the driver's seat. Not sure how to wire it to that area. Any suggestions?

What is the voltage requirement of the motot? Typically they operate on 12 volts, unless this is some home-brew device you built yourself. Then you have to know how many amps the motor draws when it operates. That allows you to get the right size wire, the right size fuse, and the correct switch.
With regard to the 9 volt battery, do you have to swap the wires between the + and - terminals of the battery to make it open and close? Sort of surprising a small battery like that would even power the motor.

I was surprised as well when it worked with the 9 volt battery. The motor was on already when I bought the car, so I'm not sure what the requirement is. I do have to swap the wires to make it open and close.
I was thinking I wanted to use a regular battery (like the 9 volt or maybe more if it wouldn't hurt) so that it could operate independently of my car's battery. Do you think that would be a bad idea?
thanks!
