Replacing convertible top myself!

I purchased a new canvas top piece for my 94 z28 and I've decided to try replacing it myself. I'll be reusing the back glass. I need any and all information on replacing the top! I've searched for days now and there's nothing much about how to actually do it. I know a professional installer is recommended, but there's nobody that I trust locally. Any help?

Re: Replacing convertible top myself!

I put one on an old Buick and also had a freinds mom make a top that we installed on another old Buick, and htey both came out great. You are suppose to start from the back and work your way forward. I wouldn't screw anything down until it is lined up perfectly, it is time consuming to get it just right and you want it perfect before its tightened. If you can find someone to help you it will go much smoother, its a pain to do alone. You might want to try some of hte oth LT1-LS1 boards cause some have convertible forums. try www.LS1.com and www.LS1tech.com
