Re: rocker arm coming off push rod
the push rod is fine i replaced it the first time it came off but the rocker looks fine and when i hook it back up it cranks up and runs fine until it comes off again it has come off 3 times now. if it is the lifter whats the easiest way to replace it.

Pull the intake, with the ignition disabled, first turn the engine over to be sure you are getting full travel on the lifter. (Compare visually to the others) If the travel is ok, the cam lobe should be ok too. Being a roller camshaft, wear is typically non existent, so long as a cam bearing hasn't spun. If the travel looks ok, as shoebox mentioned, just r&r the lifter. Personally, I'd replace the whole set, as they aren't too expensive, and there may be another soon to follow. Also recheck the pushrod, there's no telling what may have happened to it when the rocker jumped ship at xxx RPM's.

When you say "pushrod hole" the only thing I can think you might mean is the punch out in the head gasket that the pushrod goes through....if my thinking is correct, that probably only happened from the previous malfunctions. Is this the hole of which you speak?

its the hole where the pushrod goes down to the lifter u know how they are usually about the same size as the pushrod well this one is about the size of a nickel i ordered a pushrod guide plate but i still need to know why that hole was streched out like that

Re: rocker arm coming off push rod
Well, you can't just go and throw a guideplate on there. It does not work that way. Stock rockers don't use guideplates. While I don't really understand what the situation is with the hole, it has no bearing on guiding the pushrod. It's just a hole for it to pass through to get to the rocker arm.

Re: rocker arm coming off push rod
well i replaced the rocker arm and pushrod and it hasnt come off yet but one came off on the driver side of the engine so im going to replace the rest of the rocker arms and hopefully that fixes my problemes but if not ill have to change the lifters and if that dont work i heard it could be my cam wearing out but i dont know how to tell if my cam is wearing out. how much would it cost to put it in a shop and have the lt4 cam, new rocker arm, pushrods, and lifters put in.
