Pot? As in potentiometer (variable resistor)?
I feel like that’s saying “why would you tow your boat with a Silverado when all you need is a Peterbilt?”
Which leads me to believe that I don’t understand the question, or that you mean something else by “pot.”
Also, not a resistor chip, just a resistor.
