Serpentine belt

Re: Serpentine belt
Alright heres the deal with that, I broke the shaft for my power steering pulley at work. I had called my mom and had her post to see if its possible, because I heard that without the belt the water pump wouldn't run. I work in a really bad area and didn't like the idea of changing out a power steering pump at night out there.

Re: Serpentine belt
Last I knew the LT1 water pump is cam driven. So the only real concern would be no power steering and your battery going dead.
If it were daytime, I think my LT1 would go 4 miles without a belt providing the battery was fully charged.

Update, problem was solved. I drove it the 4 miles without a problem (short of a slight arm ache after attempting to park). New pump installed, everythings running normally now. Thanks for the help, guys.

Glad to hear you're okay. Even if someone would have jumped you and taken your car, you would have still had the last laugh. Maybe they would have given it back to you with the broken p/s pump.
Seriously, glad to hear everything's in ship shape.
