Service Parts Identification??

After getting replies from quite a few threads, I've ran into a problem. I found the Service Parts Identification list in glove compartment. Now I have a bunch of 3 digit letter/numbers that I have no idea what they mean. I've been looking for a way to decode them just like I was finally able to decode the VIN. Anyone know where I can find more information out about these codes? To see the list I have them posted on my website (link in sig). Just click "Parts ID".

Those are the springs and things. Check Shoebox's Tech Pages. He might have a link.

Then there's this huge Pontiac code list:

The "R" codes appear to be various sales item control numbers (can't find specifics on them).
12I : INTERIOR TRIM, GRAPHITE
6HD : SPRING, COMPUTER SELECTED, FRONT, LEFT HAND
7HD : SPRING, COMPUTER SELECTED, FRONT, RIGHT HAND
1AY : STOCK ORDERS PROCESSING OPTION (DEALER ORDERED CAR)

Re: Service Parts Identification??

A 'net search shows that GM appears to use R7A for "Sales Item; R7R for "early order"; R8T for PRELIMINARY INVOICE STE - ST THERESE, GM OF CANADA PLANT CODE
