should i get a ssra?
i've got a 99 B4C with an SS hood,SLP airlid, K+N airfilter, and SLP mass airflow sensor. it has about 121K on it and still runs great. would it be worth it if i installed a SSRA?

Re: should i get a ssra?
is your SS hood functional??
er...wait...the ls1 style hoods dont require a special air box do they?
hm...
the SSRA is a great mod, nice boost on the highway. it's up to you to justify the $200 compared to the SS hood that you have.
the SS hood is better than stock z28 style intake, and the SSRA is better than the SShood. how much is hard to say.
as everyone says the SSRA is good, but in a way i want to say that the money is better spent elsewhere since you already have a semi-functioning ram air setup

Re: should i get a ssra?
ehh... SS hood... too many loops for it to work as good as the ssra... plus the ducting for the ss hood is way less compared to that of the ssra!
you know how ther is that brace you have to put the ssra in the middle of? it is like a triangle...?
i know there is like a gap in the SSRA where you install it, i was thinking of fabbing something up so it would seal better, what do you all think?

Re: should i get a ssra?
that brace is for the hood latch i think...not positve.
sealing it better would be cool, but i'm not sure how much it would really improve the setup.
at 75+mph the small percentage of air that escapes the scoop would have minimal affect on performance.
and sealing it could increase the VERY small chance that water gets sucked up the scoop if you were to go through water deep enough to submerge the front of the scoop.

maybe i could make a removable one... something with like 4 screws i can just screw in and screw out...
acsess isnt that bad since the washer fluid container isnt there anymore...
