Re: storeing car?

When I store my car for like a month or more, I do the following.
1) Full tank of gas
2) New oil change & filter
3) Disconnect the battery
4) Coolant topped off
5) Make sure the car is clean inside & out
6) Cover the car even in a garage

This short term, and not if you are going to be over a year.

Re: storeing car?

How long of a storage???? When I went overseas for awhile, I just had about half tank with fuel stabilizer, fresh oil and filter... That way, I can get new gas in it ASAP, when I returned... JMO.....

PS. Dont forget to disconnect the negitive side of the battery....

Re: storeing car?

Why bother disconnecting the battery?
Simply purchase an automatic battery trickle charger.

I store my car for 8 months a year.
The only special things other than the trickle charger that I do is to add fuel stabilizer to a full tank of 94, put rags in the exhaust so critters can't get up there and put one of those 120V mouse sound emitters under the hood to keep those little bastards from getting up there.

When I start it up for the first time I always put the block heater on for 6+ hours to make for a nice warm start.
