I have plastic zip ties holding my plug wires away from my headers, particulary the #5 plug on my 97 Z. Will they be okay as long as they are not touching the headers? Will they melt if they are about 1/2 to 1 inch away from the primary?

I think they should be fine. Just keep an eye on them.

They'll be fine just keep an eye on them because they can get brittle and just break off after a while.

 

I did that as a temporary fix for awhile until my OTVC wire kit came in the mail. I didn't have any problems with it, but as mentioned above, keep an eye on it since they are plastic.
