From a stand-still yes, they launch very hard due to their AWD.
From a roll...no, LS1 should win with the gap increasing with higher speeds.

Thats been my experience driving my buddys STI. Car almost launches. hole shot is awesome, but seems to not get great pull from about 70mph on. Thoughts? AWD seems to be the key to that little import tuned go cart.

Re: Subaru STI, A challenge for LS1?

My dad has one with an AEM cold air and a Borla cat back and it feels pretty quick from a dig...The AWD is nice, but they seem to fall flat after about 75. Stock for stock it would be a driver's race...I raced one at a local track driven by an a--hole who kept telling me that LT1s suck and that I "didn't know what I was in for..." He went a 13.8 to my 11.55...He still thinks I only had a Borla cat-back....I do have respect for them, just not this particular owner...
