TA and Formy

What's the difference between the two. I am considering buying a formy from a site member and I'm trying to bone up on the a little so I know what I am looking at. Thanks.

Re: TA and Formy

In 94, you could get a "stripper" T/A, that was identical to the Formula in every way, except the front and rear bumper covers and the side skirts. To get the "loaded" T/A in 94, you had to upgrade to the T/A GT, or buy a bunch of options- almost all of which were also available on the Formula.

LS1 or LT1? I wouldn't even bother unless your upgrading to the Gen III, power is power. On my 4th fbody now (3 of which were pontiacs, 1 of the 3 an LT1 formula), the formula is a "stripper". Firebird body with the TA (vette) powertrain. The only thing a trans am has the upper hand, is on the exterrior and interrior. I'm not too familiar with the LT1 formy and TAs, but I do know that leather seats were an option. The TA has the center mount foglights whereas the formulas had them on the corners (98-02) LS1 years. The LT1s, the formulas didnt have foglights. The TA has the sideskirts, rear valance, and a different molded front bumper. IMO, I'd spend the extra bux to go with the TA. If you're buying the formy for a "sleeper" look, its going to be pointless once you upgrade the exhaust. Either way, its a corvette powered 4 seater, you cant go wrong

Re: TA and Formy

On the LT1 I like the T/A's better, but on an LS1, I would pick a WS6 Formula or Firehawk over a T/A anyday.
