Things I notice b/w LT1 and LS1

I just got an LS1 and used to own an LT1, here are a few observations I have made

1) The LS1 seems to take over where the LT1 started to get weak.

2) The LS1 looks NOTHING like the traditional small block chevy.

3) Where in the LT1 at 80mph, I would have to downshift to get much acceleration, the LS1 it isn't necessary, just pulls right along, even in OD.

4) Is that a PLASTIC intake manifold? Geez what's next?

I haven't had much time to "test out" my new LS1, but am sure I'll find a few more comparisons.

Yeah, I always thought those plastic manifolds were a little shady.

Welcome to 1998.

Hey, my niece is graduating from officer's school at Maxwell AFB on the 12th.

Its a "Composite" manifold. It might look cheap but works well and save weight over metal.

Its also a good insulator to keep the intake charge cool.

I'm going to have to go for a test drive in one of these mythical LSx engined cars one day.

But my LT1 works well enough irritating people for now. It's got that "angry" exhaust note that makes import drivers crazy.

My cousin's Bonneville has a plastic (composite, whatever) manifold and it melted from the inside out...costly. Assuming they are of similar design, be careful.

FYI, the mechanic told her it was from using Exxon Mobil gas...

Heh heh, most new cars on the road today have composite intakes.

There are times I love having a 10 year old car.
