If the battery has been disconnected, and the car has not been driven since, some of the codes cannot set, because the diagnostic requires a running engine and actual driving.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
It is running!! I put the cleaned injectors in and it fired right up. I had forgotten how good this engine sounds.
I decided to change tranny fluid and filter since it sat for so long, and when I took the pan off there was only about a pint of fluid in there. I don't remember what I did as far as the tranny 20 years ago but glad I checked. I couldn't get the old o-ring out so I just put the new filter in. It when in very snug so it should be OK.
Went to bleed the brakes but no fluid comes out of the master cylinder so I assume that is clogged as well. Have a new one coming Saturday.
If all goes well I will try to pull it out of the garage this weekend!

Re: Tried starting my 48Z28 tonight
Yet again this site helped me out. It was running a little rough and threw a code 27. I found a thread that said that was an EGR issue and there was a link to Shoebox article about EGR troubleshooting. The thread mentioned fans coming on after 30 seconds which mine were doing. It didn't take long for me to find the missing EGR solenoid connection I forgot to connect after removing it to take the fuel rails off. Rund much better now.
Next thing up is to get some more anti-freeze in it. It was getting too close to the red zone on my temp gauge and both fans were not on. I couldn't easily tell if my primary was on yet as it is located below the Intake. I know they both work since both were on when the EGR was the issue.
Also have a leak in my high pressure steering line at the box so will take that apart and check the o-ring and fitting. I have an AN fitting at the end of my line that connects to an adapter to fit the Saginaw pump. That's a minor issue for now.
Tomorrow I'll put the new master cylinder in and bleed the brakes. If all goes well maybe I'll get a wild hair and pull it out of the garage.
