Trouble Deleting VATS
I recently had my security light come on, and have had a couple times when it was flashing and my car would not start. On both occasions i was able to just keep tying it and eventually it started.
I have now wired in a resistor of the correct ohmage as shown in the diagam on shoeboxes site. When i got under the dash to clip the wires needed, i noticed one was already broken off. I put the resistor in as needed.
Now i havent had any trouble with the car not wanting to start, but the security light is always on, which makes me nervous. I also had the resistor fall off once and the car continued to start no problem.
So does anyone know what the deal is here? I thought if there wasnt a resistor in place the car wouldnt start period? Has my car been messed with or something?

if there is the correct resistance on a start, then it is lost during that run time, it will continue to start as a default till it is fixed, if it had the correct resistance for a entire start/run period, then lost it before the next start, it wouldn't start

oh, you could leave the module, it would leave the light on though, just unplug it, then bypass the relay and get it programmed out
