Ahhh, gotcha. Yeah, the latch itself is firm and won't come loose while driving.

Yep the verts aren't that cool to. They don't look very clean on fbodies, are very flimsy, and have wind leaks and rattles like crazy. T-tops are such a pain. They leak, the cars don't look anywhere near as clean as a hardtop, and they are a hassle to put away. The only decent open top device is the sunroof.

Looking clean is totally in the eye of the beholder of course but my T-tops do NOTHING of the things that you mentioned except rattle on severely cold days. at a hassle to put away. It takes less then a minute.

Re: Ttop question.

For all the people with leaking t-tops you guys do know its pretty easy to fix the most common leaks I keep reading how people want new weatherstrippings etc...

alot fo the main t-top leaks can be fixed with a $2 tube of black RTV sealant, and will never be seen if you look at it.

Re: Ttop question.

I always push down with my for-arm/ elbow when I'm closing the latch with the other hand.

Mine leak some and one of the locks broke so I havent locked them in years.

I dont think I would have been happy with a hard top, especially this time of year since they've been off the last few days, T tops fit the lines of these cars nicely IMO.

That's subjective

are very flimsy, and have wind leaks and rattles like crazy.
My convertible never had any wind leaks, never rattled, and wasn't flimsy at all

My TTop's on my SS never leaked, they also never leaked on my 3rd gen firebird, and I beat the crap out of both of them. A hassle to put away? No more then 45 seconds once you are used to it.

Re: Ttop question.

My drivers side t-top leaks in heavy rain right the the corner where the side window meats the a-pillar and the t-top. That lil corner where all 3 peices meets will drip right onto my leg every heavy rain i drive through. Will the RTV help that problem?
