V-Plus Volt Booster

V-Plus Volt Booster
Does this thing work? I read somewhere that it increased fuel pressure by 10 psi at WOT.
V-Plus Volt Booster
Your alternator is designed to put out a specific voltage, generally 13.8 volts. The only problem is when there's a greater demand on the electrical system, such as a WOT blast, the alternator falls a little short. The V-Plus is designed to overcome voltage taper at WOT by stepping up the alternator voltage 2.2v. at 70% throttle. Result? More power to your fuel pump and ignition system. Unit plugs in, with no wires to cut or tap into. Includes hardware.
Seems like a waste of money to me but i was just wondering if anybody had any input on this thing.

Re: V-Plus Volt Booster
Do you any indication that your stock setup is not providing the fuel flow/pressure required to support the mods to your engine? Any evidence that it is running lean?

Re: V-Plus Volt Booster
No, i pan on running a fuel pressure guage the next time im on the dyno. Some people said that i might be running out of fuel up top, if you look at my dyno graph you can see where. Im not sure if its that or some other problem.

Re: V-Plus Volt Booster
A healthy stock pump and a healthy stock electrical system should be able to support that HP level. If the pump can't keep up, watch the dash voltmeter during the dyno pull. If system volts are low, figure out why the volts are low and fix the system, rather than add the V-booster as a band-aid. If system volts are OK and the dyno (have them run a wide-band) indicates its running out of fuel, then the stock pump is weak. In that case replace the pump to fix the system, rather than the band-aid.
