I ran a freescan on my computer and my voltage is 11.9 at idle. I know it is low but besides the alternator is there any thing else it could be?

 

I could just be a faulty battery not allowing it to hold a full charge. You may also have dirty/corroded connections on the charging wire running from the back of the alternator to the battery.

 

If you want to eliminate the battery get it load tested free at some place like auto zone, etc.

 

The battery is almost new and was recently tested and is fine. If i had to guess i would think the computer reads the voltage on the alternator and not the battery. I will take it to Schucks since they can test it right in the car while its running. Don't get much easier than that. I will check the cables for damage or corrosion.
