water leaking into rear floor board!!!

about 10 days ago i noticed that my rear drivers floor mat and carpet was soaked. i cleaned both til they were dry. i later pulled up as much carpet as i could by just removing the door trim and the padding was still soaked. i took my entire interior out last year and sprayed my floor with rubberized coating so i hope that stops any chance of rust. anyways, a rain storm is now passing through and i thought i'd go out and see if water is coming into the car were i suspected it was....and it is. towards the rear of the drivers door water is somehow gathering on the door seal and running over it into the passenger floor board. i also noticed this happening on the passenger side rear but its not gathering enough to run over into that floor board. i've seen a few post where people have had water in their rear floor board and no where else. i suspect this is the cause of most peoples problem. does anyone have any idea why the water builds up in this one spot? is seems that the water should channel down in this area and then exit under the door. however, its not getting out quick enough or the way it should and it builds up and eventually starts flowing into the rear floor board. my seals are good and the water isn't leaking through the seal but it runs over it. just wondering if anyone has happened to catch it doing this and knows of a way to correct it. thanks

I'd suggest replacing the weatherstripping or taking a wad of clear silicone sealant and patching up that area.

sounds like you might have my problem. everyone says t top weather stripping but I don't see how it could be that bad unless it's torn up. Try this first, it's cheap and easy.
