Weird Problem...Maybe Someone Can Help?
Hey everyone, i have a strange problem....a while back i told some of you that my IAC had not been plugged in since i had the car and they had even cut the plug off from the wires. well, i purchased a new plug end and wired it up properly according to shoebox's diagrams. i re set my ECU and stated the motor. for some reason the motor now has what seems like a little miss in it when its cold. i unplugged the IAC to see if this was the problem and the car now idles very high which it never did before i re attached the IAC. anyone have any ideas what could or would cause this?
Thanks...
Thanks...

The IAC is a motor-operated air valve. It has evidently changed position while it was plugged in and now is farther open. I would plug it back in, let the engine warm up and set the idle to normal, then unplug it. I think it can be manually re-positioned, but that may damage it if not done carefully.

Thanks GaryDoug, i think i might try to actually re set the sensor in the morning and see if that helps. it seems to run much better with the IAC plugged in, just idles a little rough when its cold...

Did you do the IAC reset procedure? If you unplug the IAC with the engine running, the PCM can lose track of where the position is supposed to be, possibly screwing up idle control.
