Be sure to get the LT1 specific 'stat, as the SBC one may not work correctly.

Because of the significant design differences in the cooling systems between the LT1 and the LS1 engines, there isn't really any value in comparing one to the other with regard to thermostats/cooling system temps.

For your LT1, reference Shoebox's site:

I've been running the same Hypertech 160* for 13 years.

You guys need to chill

later on I wanted to ask a new question and it was in a different subject I wanted to see what the LS1 owners had in there car. Just wanted to see what brand was popular. Your threads are annoying saying I repeat them. Duralast 160 for LT1 owners in the LT1 forum left minimal results then I wanted to ask a new question (which was way later on) was for the LS1 owners and wanted to see which brand ranked highest out of the owners. I could understand if I just asked the Lt1 owners. Guy really have to stop breaking my *****. It was a different subject and it was aimed at the LS1 owners also. I like to hear what the poll was.

question 1.) was I came across the duralast 160 thermostat and wanted to know if it was junk. (Lt1 forum)

question 2.) Was Poll on what Ls1 and Lt1 owners have for there thermostats. Your rules are more strict then the freakin laws and this is the only chatroom I have problems. Is there a manually for rules for this forum? LOL Loosen up guys.

I was under that impression as well, as pointed out to me last week, Duralast does make an LT1 specific 160 degree thermostat.

And you need to be a bit more cooperative. No one is trying to enforce rules.... we are trying to help you get the answers you need, by providing a coherent thread that includes all the info, all the suggetions, everything you have tried, what worked and what didn't work.

I simply asked you a question... what was wrong with the info you got about the Duralast and the Hypertech in the previous thread. You choose to respond like a child and argue with everyone.

So... at this point, I've made my effort to HELP you get answers. You obviously don't want any help, so I will leave you alone. I suspect Shoebox will not be "bothering" you any more either.

See.... we are really easy to get along with.

Most Likely all Junk though

As I've never heard ANYONE put ANYTHING BUT the Hypertech in an LT1, for LS1s that may be different, though I'd say based on personal experience and ALL the feedback the Hypertech is the way to fly

Will I pass emissions in CT?

Would it matter if I put in a 160 thermostat rather than a 180. Person I know owns a TBI firebird and put the 160 thermostat and he said he has no heat, gas mileage went down and he failed emissions from the thermostat that he put it in. He said on the LT1 you might fail emissions and you might have to have your PCM reflashed if your putting in the 160 thermostat due to timing and running rich.

Hundreds of people run the 160 thermostat without issue and without any additional modification to the PCM. Your friends car does not have an LT1, so it is not relevant to compare.
