Yeah that was already after the 2nd gen camaro's introduced them. Yeah the 83-86 fox bods had them, those older nissans and older supra's but all those copied the general and they all look like ****. Ok, the only modern production car to STILL have them
All in all other then T-tops and chrome wheels and a catback there really wasnt any "cool" feature about our cars. They were low option sports cars
You want a car with cool options get a vette with the HUD

t-tops are different from a removeable roof, i.e. targa. Mustangs did indeed have t-tops for a short while, but those cars are pretty rare. Mostly late 80's. 88-89, a few 87. No cars in production now have "T-Tops," the closest thing is the corvette's removeable roof.

My 10 YEAR OLD Z gives up 25hp to the mighty new 2005 Mustang GT. Well, it did until the mods set in. That really pisses of Mustang people. And my car still looks cool and is paid for. Take that ford people (the v-6 pony in my sig is the wifeys).

I like how the doors and fenders are plastic (or whatever they are made of) and will always stay nice and straight, we don't have to worry about dings in parking lots (wish the quarter panels were like that)

I call 02 pretty modern. Ok how about this, the only modern car to have them until its end of production run
and it would be 05
I love my t-tops i have never had a problem with them. Just do maintenance and dont rip or slide them off. Thats how the seals get torn and leak etc.

already been mentioned but...yea, being the 3rd most powerful domestic car that came with a 6 spd option way back in 1993!. Also mentioned that an LT1 from the early 90's can easily whoop a Mustang GT's motor that is fairly new.
I also think that the abundance of parts is also a great thing. I seem to be able to walk into any parts store and they either have what i need or they can get it in a day or two.

What I love is the fact that it has so much power and gets such good gas mileage. My 01 LS1 puts out over a ton less pollution each year and gets far better gas mileage than my sisters ford ranger pick up, and its a V6. I looked it up once and it was like 17/24 to my 18/28. Speaking of- why does the corvette always have a higher gas mileage rating, its always one point higher? Also why don't get stuck with the gas guzzler tax like mustangs, which also get worst mileage.
having anti-lock disc brakes is also nice as well as traction control, cruise control, and everything else that is power. I hear people complain about the interior of the firebird, but I think its one of the better ones GM has put out.
I love the fact that you see mustangs everywhere but hardly see firebirds/TAs. After test driving some mustangs I thought the f-body was more refined, even thogh it does have its own quirks. I get pretty mad thinking of how they left a huge hump in the passenger floor for the cats, then later locate the cats farther up away from the hump, and yet still leave it there. To pay 30k for a car they could have at least worked that problem out earlier
For you guys that have all those problems, I've had almost zero problems with my two F-bodies as well as my friend who would do brake torques up and down the street with his foot on the brake and throttle floored he would be only moving 10 mph but would leave a patch the whole street. My parents have had huge problems with their econ-boxes-hondas, chevy- and ford, if you name the part they've probably fixed it. these cars(fbody) hold up pretty well to abuse.

Being in highschool i too love the 18/24 mpg economy, while still having quite a bit of hp and torque at your disposal. Also, i love the drifting capabilities these cars have...sure you can say "drifting/powersliding" is rice-ish...but once you do it you can't stop...drifting around a 3 tenths of a mile curve thats wet is DAMN fun.
Also, i love the freakin bass the hatch makes...
Oh, and i love how this has to be one of THE most recognizeable cars in the industry...too bad people who own them still can't spell CAMARO right...grr
