My rear hatch struts went out on me. The GM manual shows the RH side (10419989) in stock but the LH side (10284059) is no longer available. GMpartsdirect says that it is no longer available and one must seek an aftermarket source.

Does anyone know where to get an aftermarket right hand rear hatch strut or perhaps a pair of struts?

you should be able to get them at autozone or napa. i would assume.

 

Any local parts store will have them or be able to order then for you. Be prepared they aren't cheap. I think i gave about $25 each for mine.

 

Year One has them also if you want to go that route.

Can the hatch struts be interchangable? Has anyone ordered two left hand struts and effectively attached one on the right?
