window trouble?!?!?!?

window trouble?!?!?!?

first of all i have a 98Z, and my windows have recently stopped working. so when i took the door apart my kids lost the clips that hold in the window switches ..... so i need to know where i can find those clips and i keep hearing that it might be the window switch not the motor itself.... i need some help on this subjecti dont want to buy motors for the window if its the switch....any help would be helpful...thanks, mac

a friend of mine was having this problem and we couldnt figure out what it was we tried fuses, motor, everything and gave up. i was putting a amp and subs in for his the next day and he took a flathead screwdriver and popped the cover off of the switch and pushed the switch and the wondow rolled down and has been working since

i tried that too....thats how i lost the clips to hold the window switches in place.....

If you don't have one, get a multimeter and check the voltage at the switch and again at the motor. If you have volts. at the switch but not at the motor, then your switch is bad. If you have volts. at the motor but it doesn't move then you motors bad. If you don't have any volts anywhere then your wiring is bad.

thanks alot for all the help i will be calling the dealer in the morning....and i will be checking the volts in the moring also....
