windshield foggy

I recently noticed that my windshield is foggy inside my camaro and I cannot figure out why it has gotten like this all of a sudden. I checked to make sure that no water has leaked in anywhere and the carpet and everything is dry. Anyone have something like this happen to them before?

Can you smell antifreeze in car? Sounds like heater core leaking. Maybe it's not leaking bad enough to get the carpet wet enough for you to notice. You could bypass the heater core and see if that clears things up.

I dont smell antifreeze in the car and the carpet is completely dry. It seems like the windshield got foggy when the weather got colder. Today it is warmer outside and the windshield is not foggy.

thats probably your reason right there... mine does this during winter and early spring as well.. tripped me out that i had to run the defog for like 10 minutes every morning so i could get to work... driving on the interstate and 60+ is scarey when you can only see a 1/4 of the road your on lol

Re: windshield foggy

all cars do it. as soon as you get in, you start warming up the car, and making it more humid by breathing. the vapor pressure of water increases with temperature, so when the warm, humid air hits the cold windshield, it cant hold all that water anymore, so it gets deposited. warming up the windshield with the heater is the only way to fix that. or some sort of anti fog coating on the windshield, which ive never seen, but would be awesome.

Just do a search on google for "anti-fog". There are several to choose from. Whether or not you would want to use it is a different question.

but yea, every car will do that when it gets cold. if you notice as well, when you turn on the Defrost, the A/C also kicks on in order to dry the air or some such. Helps it defrost that much quicker.
