Re: Z28 vs SS
hey YoungBam! 1993-1997 camaro Z28's SS's TransAm's and Formulas ect had the LT1 engine. All those cars stock do low 14 to high 13's in the 1/4 and the V6 models were 160HP 3.4L untill 1997 (200hp 3.8L)
1998-2002 camaros..z28 ss T/A ect have the LS1 engine. Those cars are good for a mid-low 13 sec 1/4mile. V6 models had the 200HP 3.8L V6
The LT1's are a gen II motor, iron block and dyno~280 RWHP
The LS1's are a gen III motor, all aluminum and dyno~310 RWHP

Faster between a 95 and 99.....??.... You're opening up a bigger can of worms than you realise...
THat goes into an LT1 VS LS1 debate....
LT1 and LS1 Both have great benifits... Let's put it that way. One aluminum, one iron block, different intake designs, block designs. The only thing an LS1 carries over from previous engines is the 4.4in bore spacing.
As far as SS vs Z28... they're VERY close. it's more of options on the vehicle. 01-02 have a differnet block, springs and intake compared to 98-00. 95-97 have an LT1, 98-02 have the LS1... again the 01-02 have the "LS1".... (bit more power than 98-00.)
