Zz28
Hi Everyone,
We are looking at an 88 camaro and the guy selling it told us it is a ZZ28. I have never heard anything about that and wondered if that is different than a Z28.
ThanQ for your reply
Tim

Re: Zz28
In 1988 only two Camaro versions were made. The Sport coupe and IROC-Z. The Z28 or LT name was not used at all. If the speedometer only goes up to 115 it is a Sport coupe. '88 IROC's with either TPI motor had 145MPH speedometer. Is the engine Tuned Port Injected? If yes it is an IROC. Look at the 8th digit in the vin#: E=170H.P., F=220H.P. 305(TPI), S=V-6, 8=230H.P. (TPI) Now if the engine has been replaced with a GM crate motor that might explain a little something. They sell an engine called the ZZ4. It can be carburated or be used with the TPI. It is rated at 355H.P. Just thinking he might have said the motor is ZZ something. Does the guy speak good English?
