okay, i have 2 engine codes that have been popping up. then last time i scanned i had a 3rd one,

1st the most common one is
P0300 Random / Multiple cylinder misfire. this seems to only happen when my car almost stalls out because of the cam and drops to 500 rpm until the computer gets it more air and goes back to 900. and rarely when i rev above 6400ish. im not to worried about this one cuz my car is running great

i already changed plugs and plugs wires thinking that may be the problem.

2nd, came on a couple times, but now more frequently so i want to fix it.
P0161 02 Sensor malfunction Bank 2 Sensor 2.
ive heard of bank 2 sensors going often so im guessing this is a common occurance. which sensor is it and how hard is it to change?

3rd Code, just came on once. last time i scanned.
P1133 Bank 1 fuel control shifted lean (faosc)
i tuned my car to be on the rich side all through the rpms, and anything exceeding 6000 rpm i am even more rich, not enough to lose to much power, but just enough to play it safe. id rather run a tenth or 2 slower and be safe.

im not sure what would cause this, i was thinking maybe the 02 sensor, but it is Bank 2. so i am unsure about this one. someone plz help me out here. thanks a lot

 

for the misfire thing...i've heard something in tuning a cammed car that you need to adjust the "misfire counts" to a higher value to prevent the code from triggering. basically because a cam is GOING to misfire....it's normal to an extent. someone more informed should be able to chime in on that.

bank 2 sensor 2 is the rear 02 sensor...did you tune the rears out? how about sims? could be a burned wire.

the last code...no idea. could be a bad sensor.

did you check the codes against the list at www.gearchatter.com

 

p300 could be a cmashaft issue. Usually the low rpm Missfire table needs some time added to it becuase large cams basically cuase such big variation in crankshaft speed that the pcm interprets it as a missfire.

p0161 is definately something wrong with the downstream drivers side 02 sensor heater circut.

p1133 is a Cmahsaft related code. Basically the 02 sensor isn't switching fast enough to make the pid strategy happy.

these are all long tube headers w large camshaft codes with no cats.they should proboaly just be turned off. leave the p0300 on and adjust the missfire tables. make sure though that the ignition system etc are in good shape though first.

 

is my 02 sensor messed up? or is it just the circuit somehow. how to i test it? its like $80 for a new o2 sensor. i was gunna order one today, but if i just messed up the wire or something that might be easier

and what do u mean tune the rears out and the sims? i know very little about ls1 edit, my friend did most of the tuning for me. hes been using it for a couple years. so what should i ask him to check or do?

 

I think p1133 is related to the O2 sensor. When mine went out it threw 2 or 3 codes, one of which was the bank 2 sensor 2 code and the other was something to do with the car running lean. Its been about a year since I dealt with it, so I can't remember exactly.

 

p 1133 is based on the speed at wich the 02 sensor switches. add a camshaft and long tube header and the 02 sensor switches at a different rate of speed. You'll never have acess to the parameters that govern the 02 pid loop speed so just disable the code. the sensor is probaly fine. while your at it disable the following p1133 p1134 p1153p1154 these will pop up once you fix the other ones.

 

well the o2 sensor code was popping up long before the bank 1 lean thing. is there a way to check the sensor? and how do i go about disabling codes?

ls1 edit doesnt have anything to modify any of those perameters to prevent this from happening again. i would prefer not to disable codes if i can.

 

with your current camshaft its the only option you've got.

I can't diagnose a Bad 02 sensor from the internet. Chances are no your 02 sensor isn't shot it just can't cope with the camshaft. Again the control pid was not designed for Large high overlap camshafts with headers. Disable the code. I might be able to help but i don;t know what software you use.

you should be able to go into the Diagnostics Taba dn find the code and set it to type 3 or type X. I haven't used ls1 edit in sometime. But just change it to no error reporting and that should fix it. also diable 1133 1134 1153 1154 to avoid this problem on the other sensors.
