3:73's or 3:42's are good gears for the auto .

3.73 definitely. i gotta 2000 Z A4 with the 2.73 it pulls okay. i bet with the 3.73 it will pull harder. but next mod would be headers just so i would get my exhaust system hooked up. im still waiting to put my hookers on as well. and i do have my 3.73 richmonds chillin. im still saving to get the predator for my gears.

You'd get better gains from a high stall TC.

I wouldn't waste money on gears. If you are still car shopping then look for a car with GU5 on the drivers door. They aren't hard to find and then you'll have 3.23's which is a great A4 gear.

I'd get a nice 3500 stall torque converter instead. I'll keep your highway miles in check and do 10 times the SoTP that any gears would. If your dead set on gears then 3.73's are best in an auto I hear.

Good Luck
