02 simms
My service engine soon light is on. Its the 02 sensor. Its been replaced a few times under warranty. Light Keeps goin off. Its most likely cause of the mods, FIPK and cutout. 02 simms i know will rid the light, but my ? is without an 02 simm am i seeing a loss of power, i dont notice anything, but i want every last bit of power my car has. There is nothing else setting off the code and the 02 sensor is functioning its just the mods. Do i really neeed an 02 simm for power loss or just to rid the light?

I know what your problem is ... I bet the O2 sensor throwing the code is the rear driver's side, right?
You've got a bad driver's side cat. 2000 and early production 2001 models have a tech note for a bad driver's side cat. The readings are barely within specs, but when you start modding the car, then it goes barely out of spec but enough to throw the code.
My 2001 Z28 had an October 2000 build date and had the bad driver's side cat. The Hypertech tuning would trigger the O2 code exactly 10 miles after installation.
My 2001 WS6 also has an October 2000 build date and the previous owner never had a problem with it, but as soon as I moved my mods from the Z28 to the WS6, the same O2 code came on.
The dealer replaced the cat under warranty. Actually, on the WS6, he went ahead and replaced both cats and all O2 sensors, just to make sure the problem was solved.

yes, actually it is my right sidee cat, but i had it replaced. Twice actually, 02 sensors maybe 5 times and the light still stays on. Dunno why, thats the only code its throwin so i dont know what else to do besides get sims, but if im not seeing a loss of power then I can live with the light I have lived with it for over 3k miles and ive gotten used to it. It actually feels weird when the code is cleared and the light isnt on.
