1st time 1/4 runs...yea i suck :)

1st run was the best...and please remember this was the 1st time I've ever run the 1/4. plus i was told that the TREE was...i forget the term, but its when all yellows light up at once.

anyway 1st run was the best.

R/T 1.1

60' 2.5

1/4 14.42 at 101

i only ran 3 times. the last 2 runs i messed up on the 2-3 shift

but atleast i was consistant.

14.42 at 101
14.5 at 98
14.4 at 100

yea i suck, but atleast the SS can do better

Don't worry about it. The first time is always the worst. Look at it this way u didn't run as bad as i did my first time with a 99 WS6

15.3 95

14.9 100.3

I quit after that. I went back a couple of weeks later and ran a 13.9 106. So just practice you'll be fine. Good luck

I ran 14.4 on my very first run. By the end of the night, I was running 13.8.

Two weeks later I went back out and started with a 13.7 and finally got down to a pair of 13.3 runs back to back.

So ... what I'm saying is .... keep at it. I expect to see 12's next spring.

At Las Vegas Speedway during MM the track is worthless and I could not get my $hitty RS-As to do better than a 2.3 60ft. I ended up with a 13.76@105.

One advantage of an automatic is you can't screw up and miss a gear.( I know it takes more skill on a 6 speed.)I ran my son's car last year on the 1/8 mile for the first time ever for me and I'm 53 years of age. I had better times than he did and he's 22.

here are my runs from the 1st time i went to the track
1st 14.00@102
2nd 15.02@ 98
3rd 13.54 @105
4th 13.90@ 103
yeah there is a huge difference between the 2nd and 3rd time i went to the track last week with slicks and my car couldnt hold the power so the clutch slipped everytime and the best time i got was a 14.4 @ 102 what really makes me mad is my trap times reflect that of a 13.0 sec car!!!

not sure about trap time, but trap speed is the speed of the car at the end of the run.

My first runs in my 98 Z28, after four months of learning how to 'drive' stick:

1) 1.25 RT/2.32/14.8@98.81
2) 1.46 RT/2.548/15.132@99.88
3) 1.091RT/2.358/14.39@100.49
4) .931RT/2.609/15.274@95.34

Nothing like consistency I had 6 passes in an auto LT1 before that

Trap speed isn't the exact speed you're traveling when you cross the 1320' marker. It's an average of two speeds taken at two different distances at the end of the 1/4mi. I never thought about it, but I wonder if they 'average' the ET as well from those same two points?

for running at the LVMS, do you necessarily have to go to MM on friday, or can you just go anyday of the week, at a reasonable time, and do runs?

Thanks for the response, and you're right, I am not a LVFbody member, I rarely ever go to LVMS, because it is so far away from where I live, but ill show up there on friday.
