Question 2002 SS Coolant Question

My 2002 SS with 500 miles has a bubbling sound after it is turned off. Sounds like coolant bubbling or flowing, maybe to the coolant recovery tank. Any other members hear this sound, is it normal? Thanks for your help.

See if you only here this noise after you have been running the AC, you may be hearing the high and low side pressures balancing out, listen closely to the accumulator, thats where alot of noise comes from, its normal though.

Question

It makes boiling sounds every time I turn off the car no matter if the AC was running or not. Temp gauge reads about 195-200 degrees all the time. Has done this since new, a little over a week now. I put my hand on the coolant recovery tank and can feel vibrations that correspond with the sounds. Do all LS1's do this or is something wrong?

Mine does that too every once and a while, its just the coolant running to the recovery tank. No need to worry.

Since your car runs between 195 and 200 all the time you need to get the 160 powerstat..thats what I did and my needle barely gets above 160 or so. Just a little advice

Problem found. The factory put the radiator cap on with one end of the rubber gasket bent over. It was not making a good seal. I put the cap back on with the gasket in the correct place and the bubbling coolant noise is gone. Thanks for all your inputs.
