7.0 Liter or Stock 5.7 Litre

Well I am stuck now on what to do with my car. I was going to take it to ARE and do some heads and cam stuff but I still wnat more power, so I was goin to get a supercharger. But I saw I can get a 7.0 litre LS1 block. Now I am thinking if I should build up that and make it into a monster and put a supercharger on it or leave it N/A. What should I do? Get the 7.0 litre or just take in my engine and tweak it up a bit?

I think the 7.0L block is actually the C5R block? That's about a 10 on the coolness scale. If you want power and $$$ is not a factor, I say go for it!!

He's calling it a 7.0 liter, which is fine but most people call it a 422 and I'm sure you've heard of that.

except for ARE'sstock style suspensioned high 8 second resleeved aluminum LS1 with a power adder of course ( forget what exactly)

Anyways, there are two common ways to get 7.0L of displacement (sticking to LS1's) .. umm actually come to think about it, maybe there's something for the 6.0L iron blocks.. anyways....

resleeved and stroked stock LS1 block.. they put in different sleeves andp ut a stroker crank to displace more than 7.0L's.. cheaper.. and supposidly the places that do them figured out how to do the sleeves reliably..

or start with a C5R block.. this is the same block they use in LeManns in the Corvette C5R's!! (thank GM racing!).. ..but its made out stronger stuff and is slightly different on the inside. The most bulletproof, and the most expensive way to go.. The beauty is tt has the same exterior dimensions as a stock pedestrian LS1!!!!

you'll probably end up with around 500 rwhp and rwtq on a not too radical setup that probably doesn't require alot of maintinence.

if you need more power, I'm sure they can hook you up..

Well... how much power do you want exactly?

We've made over 450rw with the stock shortblock... and over 520rw NA on pumpgas with a stroker .... stroker's $ though...

A little while back Motor trend tested a Corvette made by Lingenfelter. It was a 427 cid (7.0 liter) based on the LS1 with twin turbos. Coming off the line at about 1500 RPM with ET drags the car went 9.8??. That is one bad mother. So, I'm pretty sure you could probably get a whole engine through LPE.

0-60 in 1.97
1/4 in 9.24

That is a wicked car, and it looks almost stock on the outside.

Hey thanks for the replys everyone. Ya I am talking about the C5R Block. Well I am not really thinking of a set amount of horsepower. I just want something that is so amazling powerful it would make a muscle head cry. Money is an option to me but its not like I need this engine tommorrow, I can start it and put in money as I go. Cuz I was thinking of building it piece by piece. Instead of just buying a built one from MTI or someone like that. I would probally have ARE do it cuz I am close by. What do you think a engine would cost me out the door for one built N/A with crazy power?? Also I was thinking of doing a stroker to the 7.0 or maybe boreing and sleveeing it to a bigger cube. What do you think?? I just wnat something strong.. if I take my LS1 in and do stuff it won't be anywhere near as strong as the C5R..Right??
