98Z O2 sensor question
I have an SES light. I had it scanned at autozone and they said it was 0141 heater circuit bank one sensor 2 but they did not know which sensor that was. Do you guys know which side and if its beofre or after the cat? Also I had the problem before but I do not remember the code but it was the driverside sensor before the cat. If this is a reoccuring problem is it OK to jsut buy O2 sims and quit messing with the SES, I jsut got this car and I am already missing my LT1!!! (except when I put the pedal down)

The bank refers to driver or passenger side, and the sensor refers to pre-catalytic converter or post-cat. B1 is driver, B2 is passenger side. S1 is pre-cat, S2 post-cat.
You can use an O2-sim on the S2's no problem - all the S2's are there for is to determine whether or not the converter is on the car. The sim merely reports a valid value to the PCM so it doesn't complain.
On the other hand, you shouldn't muck with the S1's if you have a street car. Open loop (part throttle) operation depends on them.
Seems to me I've read that emissions equipment is mandated to be warranted for a longer time than the standard 3/36 warranty GM provides. I'm not sure if O2 sensors fall into this category though. If a new part doesn't work correctly, I'd keep exchanging it for a replacement part from their parts department.
