Exclamation '99 Camaro SS Shifting Problem

I have a problem shifting my camaro. It is not a problem with the shifting technique. The gears just scratch sometimes for no apparent reason. I am not sure what the problem could be. If this helps at all, the problem usually occurs during the first 5 minutes in the beginning of a drive. I usually shift in lower RPMs (around 2k) to save gas. Bad idea? Any wisdom or experience could save me a new trans. ALL HELP AND COMMENTS APPRECIATED

how long has it been since you changed the oil in the tranny?
Do all the gears do it? if not which one, or which one does it most often?
It sounds like a syncro problem to me.

yeah it wouldn't hurt, and it wouldn't hurt to have them put some new synthetic in as well, just to see if that isn't your problem
