A4 transmission modification...
Is it possible to make a modification to keep the A4 in whatever gear it was in, so it wouldn't downshift? Say you are doing 40, and you just want to get to 60 - not at a snail's pace, but not like a rocket; say 60% throttle. The computer unlocks the TC, at about 10% throttle, but at about 30% it downshifts one gear and at 50% it goes down two gears, a few jerks, a second of shifting, and then you go. That LS1 can lug at WOT, and so why can't I get this with an AT - say stay in third an whatever throttle position? Also sometimes I DON'T want a neck snapping jerk, even though I am asking for 80% throttle. Surely the tranny and TC can take the low end torque??????
It would seem to be an easy mod - being the tranny is electrically controlled. It seems that there in no logic to "when" it will kick down - maybe even a kickdown delay circuit - need to find what the downshift inputs are specificaly to the ECM - Hey Delco folks, any ideas ?

His/Hers
Is it possible to set the tranny so you can have full manual control mode and then when you want you can have it fully automatic, sort of like the old his and hers, except this would be done electronicly.
