A lot of people have bad things to say about the way SLP air lid fits. I went with whisper lids on both the fourth gens I have owned.

I'm thinking of going with whisper as well... I have no idea what you gain by changing the lid though, what would it be with a K&N?

Iv heard a lot of different numbers on the gains of the whisper lid (or any lid) I would say no more then five. As for the K&N and all other aftermarket air filters don't buy them for the hp claims they make. The actual hp gain of them is 0.00300029, ok I made that number up but its less then 1 hp gain so get a K&N for the fact that it is reusable not the hp gains.

i have whisper......works good 4 me

if u guys are talkin bout diffrence between lids...or difference between stock airbox and lid

lid to lid......gain is minimal if any
airbox to lid.... there is gain
the stock bellows suck a$$
and then get some whisper ram air that works great
just my .02 cents

I went with SLP...

The fit seems to be just fine. I havent really noticed any fitment problems. I checked for air leaks with a cigarette, and my SLP lid sealed very well.

In defense for the K & N filter my 94 Lt1 vette went from 14.2 to 13.7 E.T. when I did the filter change. For the cold air intake look at fast toys ram air. It fits pretty good.

If you want numbers, my LS1 Motorsports lid and Holley Powershot filter took me from 13.8xx to a 13.5xx (both runs are on street tires with 2.2's and 2.3's 60's and slipping clutch) I'd say go with the holley powershot filter, cause i've heard of the K&N having sealing problems, and the powershot fits just fine.
