CamaroZ28.com provides numerous forums that allow you to post your question where you are most likely to get the answer you need. Each forum has a defined scope of topics. Advanced Tech is specifially defined to EXCLUDE questions like "what it the best air intake". You should post that kind of fundamental question on the appropriate forum..... in your case that would be "LS1 Tech".

This post will be moved to that forum. As noted in the response above, you might also want to review the requirements for posting on Advanced Tech.

Thank you,
Fred

if you're going w/ the FTRA, might as well go w/ the stealth air lid... thats the best lid i've ever seen, lol. awesome gains man, better than the regular lids.

but yeah... i'd want to know if the k&n FIPK is any good... i'd like to compair the FIPK vs. FTRA + Stealth and see which one pulls more hp out of the ls1.

The Stealth airbox assembly gave me 16hp more than a lid/ftra/holley airfilter setup. It's definately a good mod. Oh, by the way I've got a Direct-Flo lid and FTRA for sale if you decide to go that route.

Yep, 16 hp and 21 pdtq. I bought it from your sponsor. Ordered so early they had to dropship it to me from the manufactor. Stealth works.

how much did you dyno w/ the lid... and how much did you dyno w/ the stealth? how come you don't put a combo w/ the stealth and ftra?

Here are the dyno numbers for 3 sessions with the mods for each session.
8/3/02
Direct-Flo lid
FTRA
paper airfilter
4 inch Mufflex catback w/Spintech muffler and dual outlets
289.4 RWHP 297.4 RWTQ

10/5/02
All of the above PLUS
HPP3 Power tuning
Holley powershot airfilter
292.7 RWHP 306.4 RWTQ

11/23/02
All of the mods EXCEPT the catback were removed and the Stealth airbox assembly was installed.
305.1 RWHP 321.2 RWTQ

That's how it worked out on my car. It seems to me the LS1 in its stock form gives varied dyno numbers from motor to motor. Judgeing from some of the dyno numbers posted I'd have to say that the horsepower could vary as much as 15-20 horsepower.

Anybody want to get together and run user tests to see if it actually works? I'll furnish the lid (00-02) the FTRA and pay for dyno time.
