Another Cam question

I want the wildest cam I can get and remain streetable. I know this is open to debate on what a person deems "streetable". Secondly, if you have this cam....have you had it dyno tuned and would you mind me stealing some of your tables?

I plan on having Ion do my tuning, but short of spending a day at a dyno with him and going broke....we won't be able to get the car as close as I would like.

Re: Another Cam question

Futral Motorsports FM-14 cam... .599/.600 232/234.

Pulls from 3000-7000.

Helped install one in my buddies 01 WS6 and its a DAILY DRIVER (also an M6 w/ 3.73's). Damn the idle is nasty...

Re: Another Cam question

TSP torquer cam, 233/233 .589" lift 112 lobe.

stock heads, dyno tuned with boltons in the sig

382hp 375#s of torque

that was on a slipping clutch and a less than ideal tune.

with the stock heads, my new clutch and a better tune i think 400rwhp is no problem.

You'll have to get it tuned with the f-14 but any "wild" cam is going to need a tune anyways

Re: Another Cam question

Main thing is...is someone able to get close without a dyno? I suppose I should be asking Ion that question...but wanted to get a somewhat unbiased opinion

Re: Another Cam question

Sure you can...just go with a proven mail order tuner like pcmforless.com

Re: Another Cam question

I'm sorry...call me skeptical, but how can they...(unless they have tuned every possible cam combo), tune it even close

They're pretty close to having tuned every cam combo

If tuning and dyno tuning were the only things you did for a living, you'd have to be good to stay afloat. Many folks who get mail order tunes from pcmforless show up on one of their dyno days for a little fine tuning, only to find the a/f ratio looks golden and they're 1 hp away from being perfect

Re: Another Cam question

not to mention alot of guys send them scans of the car so that they can see exactly what they need to adjusts

and i'm sure they keep track of it according to the cam and mods.
