Anyone found metal particles on their drain plug?
I changed my oil the other day and found some metal on the magnetic tip of my drain plug. Just a little bit of mettalic grit, doesn't even cover the whole magnet. The only real piece was a thin sliver about 1/8" long.
It has about 18,000 miles on it, and from the service decal in the corner of the window the oil was last changed at a quick-lube type place.
Not sure if I should be worried or not.
What do you guys think?

It's pretty normal to find a little bit of metallic "fur" on the drain plug. I've found that the more miles on my engine, and every oil change, there has been less and less, but when the engine was newer, there would be a fair amount of those fine metal filings on the magnet and I think it's just from the engine breaking in and parts wearing slightly. IMO, nothing to worry about.
