Auto vs 6 speed

I love my A4, never had a problem(knock on wood). Consistent as hell at the track and on the street. I must say, driving in an M6 car, always makes my car seem slow as hell. Put that M6 car next to me at the track (with about the same mods or even a little more) and it's not even close. Obviously it depends on the driver, but it always seems their is an excuse ie. missed shift, spun to much etc. I have a lot of respect for M6 guys at the track!!!!A lot of stuff they have to watch and do as they race.
I ordered my car with an A4 because I've never driven a stick car all the time and I didn't want to really learn how to drive a stick on my brand new Z28.
YOU CAN'T MAKE A BAD CHOICE

The first one when I got it was unknown.. just had a shift kit.. it went out within 2 weeks of me getting car.. limped to work.. sent car to the dealer, they sent it to the person who previously owned the cars mechanic, he sent it to a tranny rebuild place.. Got car, still wasnt right.. (needed fluid).. got fluid added and tranny seemed fine.. then it went out again.. Wouldnt go into any gear... no forward motion.. Send to a "tranny guru". Buillt my friends 700R4 that is still running strong!. Frist tranny from him (#3) lasts just a couple thousand miles, and was replaced under his warranty with #4 because they messed something up.. This tranny was kewl.. till just after the warranty ran out.. then it goes south.. #5 was done by an old guy that knows his way around a tranny backwards and whatnot (also built a friends tranny that has lasted).. It didnt last but 8K miles.. Finally went to AAMCO.. They did it right #6.. it worked and felt great.. but then I had motor problems and got rid of the car once the bearing spun.

no whut i meant was that with an M6 U the driver r really the 1 responsible for whut ever time U get.
as compared to an A4 where all u have to is feather the gas.
ive run the 1/4 3 times and my best time was 14.2 at 101.
but i know the car can hit 13's easy, so I'M responsible for my crappy 14.2.
does this clear up my statement?

See, having had an A4, there is no feathering... Second last light to turn goes on and I mash the gas.. No break preload, goes from idle to floored.. 1.9 60' with street tires, 2nd gear hits hard and breaks loose but catches soon.. 13.4 in the heat. LT1.. Not many real mods.. Not too damn bad.. 3700 lbs..
I am not getting on ya or flamin, just stating information and comments.. Now, launching an M6 isnt as easy, you cant just do a 6000rpm clutch dump and go.. nope.. not gonna work... I had to launch at 1500-1700 at the track.. anymore would make the tires break loose, any less and it was dismal...
May go friday... now I have my whole family itchin for me to go to the track once they found out that i have 2 sets of drag radials.. I am going to sell the set I like the least.. Either some used BFG DR's or some new Nittoz DR.. after I write my review for the two..

This stuff is supposed to be fun, right? I'm going to take my car to the track sometime early this spring (first time at the track). If I could get anything near low 14's I'd be happy. I'll probably not get there very often so I doubt I'll ever get any great runs but who cares, I'm there for the thrill. A friend of mine is going to take his FE Viper (traded his C5). The Viper is a manual of course. He recently said, "low 14s!", I'll take that. Hopefully he was kidding.

I had a POS car and I needed something else. I always regretted not buying a camaro in the first place. My friend was selling his with the ultra-z hood, borla, air intake, and hypertec on it already. It had low miles and he offered to sell it to me for less than book value. It's a manual, which I never drove before, so he let me try it out before I decided to buy it. It didn't take long for me to learn and I LOVED it. It was a great deal that I couldn't pass up. If you do get the M6, the first thing you need to do is get the skip shift eliminator. I'm not cocky at all about driving an M6, but most people think it's cool that a girl drives a stick .
