Bassani y-pipe

Bassani y-pipe
I was planning on getting a bassani y-pipe for my 99 SS but keeping the stock manifolds and i already have magnaflow catback already. Is this a good choice or are there any others you guys recomend?

I honestly think longtube headers will yield more than the Y-Pipe but of course, the combo together would be for the best results

There's no reason to keep cats unless you have emissions testing and they visually check for them.

The 98-99 f-body manifolds suck. Changing the y-pipe will net tiny gains in comparison to the money spent.

i installed the bassani Ypipe on my 99 when i first got it.
in all honesty...for the $$ and the hassle of the install (didn't fit very well) it was NOT worth it at all.
i had it installed with a catback at the same time...and felt minimal gains.
not to mention there was a ton of clearance issues with the frame.
bottom line
money better spent elsewhere!!!

Also I thought the cats were on the Y-Pipe, not the headers... unless 98's and 99's are different I think you'll have to change the cats if you change the Y-Pipe OR Headers because the cat's connect them together...

the bassani ypipe that i had replaced the cats. it had flanges that bolted directly to the manifolds.
the driverside cat is bolted to the manifold, the passenger side is mounted farther back.
pics of my bassani:
installed showing clearance issues:
