Im trying to decide which would be better for my car. I searched through some threads but I would still like some recommendations. So vote Damnit!!

Right now my main engine mods are a lid, Pacesetter L/Ts, and the LS1 Hotcam kit. I was about to buy the LS6 but I came across the BBK while looking around.

After searching, it sounds like Im going to need a new throttle body with the BBK? So if anyone has any suggestions post em up!!!

 

People have always said the BBK suffer's from heat soak badly

 

Yeah, its a fairly new product so Im having some trouble finding info.

 

ls6, at least you know they are tried and tested.

 

Part of me just wants the BBK because they look sweet. If I get the LS6 Ill probably just end up painting it red.

 

Can run a larger t-body on the BBK also. Get it and let us know how it works.

I went through the same thing you are going through. The BBk looks sweet but when I called on it, they told me that I need the 85mm tb also. So I went with the LS6 instead.

 

I dont mind spending the extra $ on the TB, I just want to make sure Im not making a mistake by going the BBK route.

 

on a 420hp crate LS1, the FAST intake only made 1hp more than the LS6 intake...

so unless you are building a REALLY crazy H/C, stroker or FI, there isn't much to be gained that the LS6 won't accomplish.

Well I was gonna say that it might be worth it until I saw the price. ~$900 is what I saw, is this the price you were getting it for? That's w/80mm TB. For that kind of cheddah, no thank you.

There are plenty of people making a lot of power with LS6 manifolds. And they don't cost $900. So unless you're going to be flowing A LOT of air, I would spend your money elsewhere.

Are we still talking about the BBK, because the BBK is only around $425.

 

I'm using the Stock LS6 intake manifold with a stock unported TB and put down 412rwhp and ran a 12.35 @ 116.5 MISSING 3rd gear. You don't need anything more than the LS6 for those mods.

and you can find a used LS6 intake for about $300 or less
