Which one is it? My radiator seems to be clogged. Temp is at 240 idling with fans on or highway speeds. I really hope its not my water pump. I have 65000 miles and the radiator seems fine on the outside.

 

Have you checked for a bad thermostat yet....seems more likely than a clogged radiator.

 

My temp goes to 240 when I am idling and during highway speeds so that should eliminate the thermostat. I did take the thermostat out and it seems ok from what I can see. I can also compress the springs with not that much an effort so I am leaning to the radiator.

 

I changed the thermostat and that did the job. Funny how the thermostat went bad outta nowhere. I mean in the morning it was fine and the car sat for a few hours then in the afternoon the problem started.
