Yeah I know, but what im saying is, if your dyno numbers are low, it doesnt nesessarily mean to start worrying that your car is underpowered.

BTW, I hang with by buddies blown 4.6 everytime we go at it. He gets so mad.

Theres the reason i sold my 99 GT. Was going to get an intercooled vortec 9# kit then decided, hey I got enough money for a down payment on Z28. Plus i didn't like the idea of a blown car running low 13's. Seemed kinda weak. Would have had to spend another 2-3 grand on more mods to get in the 12's, plus 4.10's and a 5 speed don't work to well on the freeway.

On the horse power numbers, i think it matters more about area under the curve than the peak of the curve. I think the firehawks have a little more aggressive cam and possibly a bigger throttle body. Can't remember, last time i looked was in 99 and i am 22 year old that feels like he is 30 and is loosing his memory . Those firehawks are impressive.

id have to disagree about the supcharged GT running low 13s what supercharger are you thinking of here?? the saleen series 2 that thing blows its got for low end but no top end now put a 10lb charger ATI with cooler and some DRs youll see low 12s no problem

With stock gearing, we could not get a friends 2000 GT into the 12's. He has a t-5 and drove alot on the free way, wanted to stick with the 3.27. We installed a vortec aftercooled 9# kit on it, with all the upgrades it comes with, and it just seemed to cut from 14.2's(Stock on the g-tech) to 13.2's (with the vortec) on average, this was with stock tires. I know those goodyears don't grip good, but they weren't spinning too bad, had some good luanches. I'm guessing with dr's and 4.10's maybe some 12's but my friend just wanted more power, not a drag car. Just to compare, in the same area with the same g-tech, I ran a 13.34@113.9 with my 02 z. 113 is off b/c the g-techs are usualy off by 3-5 mph. I may have him talked into some 3.73's but he is worried about freeway rpms.

hmm not saying youre not right but somethings not right here, 4.10s @ 70 should be turning 2,800-2900 and 3.73s about 2,500-2,600 i have 3.27s and at 70 im only turning 2,000.

Whats stock gears in a SS and anyone out there moved to a steeper gear??? what was your 1/4 mile improvment?? just wanted to see how good gears were for that torquey LS1

i have low dyno numbers

i only dynoed 305hp and 312tq with my ls1 lid, corsa, and cut-out open! i dont have a kn or holley air filter, just the one that can be found at jiffy lube...does that matter?

oh yah at about 5700 rpms...

do they seem low to anybody else?

My 02 TA ran 13.606 bone stock down to the paper air filter. This was in 80% humid FL weather, a crappy track and a bad 3rd gear synchro that prevents you from making quick 2-3 shifts at high rpms.

my trap speed was 104.9 with a 2.24 60ft time. I know the car has more. I have been trapping near 106 lately with zero work done since that initial run, but have been having traction issues.

If not for my 3rd gear, i would easily be hitting 13.4's if not better and I am not a small person, i weight 290.

The car dynoed 312.7hp and 338.5tq to the wheels corrected bone stock.

Hope this helps you out

i had alil encounter with a lightning last night it was a 2002 black and had exhaust and he said he changed out the pulley, so anyways the first run we do we are rolling at like 35 and we both nail it, i was even with him up til about 55 and then i guess his truck shifted into 3rd and he just started walking away, then at the light i raced him i couldve taken off better for sure but we were tied all the way up until i shifted into 3rd so i get up next to him and asks him what hes running and he said 12.8s all day long, so i figure i didnt far off too bad for being a convertible and having stock gears
