Any problems with this exhaust? Worth the money? Should I just get a cheaper system? Dont like the Loud Mouth. How about Random Techs cat back??

I really like my exhaust system. I haven't had any problems with the system, but I messed up my exhaust when I went down a steep parking lot exit; the I-pipe disconnected from the Y-pipe and it was wedged by the axle. It cost me $350 to get the new pieces!
I'm glad I fixed mine though. Check out Thunder Racing; they're having a sale on them.
Magnaflow offers a stainless system for a lot less and it has a good sound-you might want to check into them too.

Go with Mufflex, I had it on my '97 Z28 and loved it. Now on the SS I have the SLP dual-dual option and didn't want to change that so I added a Magnaflow muffler.....love the sound with that as well. However I strongly recommend Mufflex. Good luck.

Borla is a great system, I had it on my LT1 and loved it. For something new I have Corsa on my LS1 and I love the sound and looks. There is also B&B Triflo to consider.

Got a friend with the random tech exhaust on his T/A, and it's very quiet! Don't go random tech!

I'd say just do the dynomouth catback, can't go wrong for the price! The muffler I believe is around $40 or so and then you can have any good muffler shop make a custom 3-in catback for you with the bulitt welded in the i-pipe. The total cost would probably be in the area of $150. All depends on where you go, some places charge more than others. But from what i've heard, $150 is a good guestimate.

Personal opinion, no matter which way this topic is looked at. I went with the GMMG chambered exhaust. I think that it is the best sounding exhaust on an LS1. It's a lil' pricey but hey, its worth it! Ask ratio411 on this board about dynomouth he has a sound clip of his car, in his sig. This is a less costly exhaust and sounds pretty good. Or also there was a guy, that rescently fabricated his own GMMG with mufflers from www.sweet-thunder.com and that came out pretty good too. You have a bunch of options. Good Luck

My $0.02

I really like the Borla on my 98Z28 and with the options of the different plates, you can adjust the sound. They provide a complete blockoff plate which directs all the exhaust through the muffler or you can install one of three different plates, 25%, 50% or 75% opening. Or you can just leave the plate out all together. Depends on the sound you want. There is a flanged connection with only three threaded bolts to remove/change the plates.

I just installed a Magnaflow system on my 99SS and it's quieter than the Borla but sounds really bada$$ at WOT. I like both systems but with just the 25% opening on the Borla it's much louder than the Magnaflow. I do like the tips better on the Magnaflow. The Borla fit better than the Magnaflow, I never had to adjust the Borla where the Magnaflow required some adjustments.

Keep us updated.

Forgot to mention the issue of resonance.

The Borla did resonate a bit on the freeway at certain speeds. That is why I like the Corsa so much, when you are cruzing you get a deep refined sound but no resonace. But when you punch it, she screams.

Of course the Borla is adjustable so you can go fully closed or full open or somewhere in between.

Down load some sound clips or better yet find someone that has them a get a listen that will help you decide fast!

www.corsaperformance.com, they have clips on their site.
