hey man i was just trying to look out for you but i guess you are one of those kids that give people our age the reputation of being "punks" These are NOT race cars if they were designed to be race cars they would have better rearends, jericho transmissions and slicks, they are street cars that can occasionally go to the track other than that they are means of transportation. OH by the way i wasnt going to say anything, but now since i know you, your car is really meant to not be on the track...cough cough CONVERTIBLE!!!!!!!

hey stylez wussa ****? congrats on dat silver vert... tight work. i know these "oldies" i mean adults think u must be a stupid ignorant rich kid throwing away ur parents 30 g's, but it's all good i wuz once 17 also (two years ago to be exact 19 now) so i know what it's like to roll up in a sweet car, all ur friends breaking neck, but it's a brand new sweet car man take care of it. it is a grand piece of american/gm art and history, and there arn't much cars out there like it. you'll learn eventually to respect it and appreciate it though, hopefully u won't wrap it around a pole or something before u do. now to the burnouts... well there are two ways of doing it that wont cost u a dime, (except for the tires u waste) 1 is to get the tires spinning then using your left foot (clutch foot) and tap the brakes so the front wheels lock and u will sit and light them up all day, #2 the way i do it, using you right foot put you heal on the brake pedal and depress it using your heel, put the ball of you feet on the accelerator and depress it, pretty much using your right foot to press both the brake and the accelerator, it takes some practice but it works, trust me i do it all the time. this leaves your left foot free to use the clutch and shift while power braking. becareful though, cuz you could loose control of the car when u shift if u lighten up on the brake pedal of if u take you eyes off whats ahead or turn the steering wheel when u go to shift. when u get enough practice u can sit there and smoke 1st 2nd 3rd and even 4th<--- but let off the brakes by then or the car will bogg down and stall, and ur gonna look like a fool when u have to sit there and turn it back on.

just take it to a nice solitare open area with a lot of room where u wont hit anything, and practice. the car will stall out on u many times and it will get frusterating, but once u learn the catch, it's killer attention at car meets and shows. hope this helps laterz 1

I have a friend that is a senior at Cardinal Newman High School in South Carolina and he has a 2001 Dodge Viper GTS. He is 17 years old and his dad is JT that owns Dodgeland in South Carolina.

As for the showing off in front of your friends, I am 19 , I would highly recommend you keep the stuff at the track. I had a wreckless driving ticket for 6 points and 350 dollars plus a night in jail for showing off. That is just my experience, and in some cases they can take your car for good. I did get my ticket dropped to an Improper start 0 points and 50 dollar fine, because I know alot of the cops. that is just the law side of it, I have lost 2 friends that were "playing" in the street and died, now they were street racing at speeds over 100 so it is different then your case. But from one teenager to another, just be safe man. Have fun at the track.

When I first started driving my car when I was 17, I went through 3 clutches and 3 sets of rear tires in 6 months, I had to work like 30-40 hours a week after school to pay for the stuff. I also had line loc on my car so that made it even easier just to light the tires up.

Convertible for the ladies my friend... i don't know one girl that doesn't want a ride in my school and thats the truth. And who said converts can't race down the track? there is a Super Stock 98 TA CONVERT that runs at raceway park every Sunday... yea the convertible works to. He does however have a cage so when he put it down it looks stupid as helll, but the point being U CAN DO IT. Now chill out k?

The thing I don't understand why this has become such a big issue! If Stylez28's parents want to buy him a NEW TA then knowing probably that he is going to do this kind of stuff then good for him. I know if my parents or anyone else's parents on this board could of afforded to buy them a new camaro or ta when they were in high school they would of jumped on it on the spot. Am I a little jelous? OFCOURSE!! I think anyone would be if they grew up like the rest of us from a just above poverty family that could barely afford new shoes! Stylez28, congrats on the new car. Take care of it like it was a child, be responsible and have as much fun as you want with it, just watch out for people like me on the road cause I want to live to see tomorrow!

i feel ya
<--- wear a bowtie till i seize my hearse.... I originally wanted a camaro z28 or SS both the same shiznit. i don't care what the SS guys say about the ram air, same car same engine (in stock trim). but thats another topic, eitherway i went all around miami even further north florida looking for a chevy, but i couldn't find one the way i wanted: sunset orange metallic on graphite six speed and chormes. I ran into one around pompano for 15,500 a SS but had too many miles for a 99 almlost 79k. then on the way home @ hallett pontiac i ran into my black hawk 98 blk on graphite six speed, not a scratch or a dent, and and only 26k miles, I couldn't say no to that.

I am alot more carefull now. My first car was a blue 87 IROC Z28---the sweetest car I have ever seen. I loved that thing. I bought it myself for $5000 several months before I turned 16, and my mom wouldn't let me drive it until I got my licence, so it was just sitting there in the garege begging to be driven----but about a year later I was driving home homecoming night (drunk) and crashed my first love. I just about cryed. now about 5 years later I have a red 99 Z. Its about 10 times faster but just dosen't have the stile of my 87, but I still love my LS1. I also had a Z71 for ahilwe ----- it was fun but it doesn't compare to a fast car.

StylezZ28- Yea, my parents made it clear that even though I was paying for the clutches and tires, the playing was going to stop. Plus doing burnouts is not that healthy for the motor, you have the car turning alot of rpms with no load on the engine, that can easily damage something. But hey I have did my share of burnouts so what the heck just be safe and make sure the law isn't around.

now those are big words comming from a man that drives a mustang!! just trippin with ya though...

yea styles personally i like the z's in artic white, silver, black, and sunset orange metallic. I've always loved black on black cars, but it's something about that sunset orange and the chromes, that draws me madd quick. funny thing today @ d'd<--- (dunkin dounuts) I pull in and see this tight tight as$ SS. Sunset orange with chrome z06 rims, all else stock, man that thing wuz a beauty. and i know this fine as$ female dat drives a 99 black on camel vert auto z28, they both are tight work, nuttin like a woman that knows how to appreciate real cars...

My ambitionz- I just don't want people to have to go through what I have witnessed other people go through. Very tough on families that have had this happen. Just be careful.
