I had a cop tell me this. "Look, you have to catch this guy....it's not your car.....so you do what ever it takes." Curbs, medians, using the front of the car to do the pit manuever etc.

If you can get it cheap got for it! But beware, I think you are better off to go with a private owner. just my .02

Dont do it! A piggy sat in the car and that alone devalues the price. Just think of it this way, that car could have pulled one of us over and made us pay MAD $$ in a ticket. You may have bad car karma. For real I am just kidding. If the price is REALLY right go for it but do not forget that problems that are not showing up now could still be there and pop up later when you least expect it.

Oklahoma has a bunch of them... I know of four officers from my town driving them! They use them on open Turn Pikes here, "yes we have to pay to drive on the highways here!!!" and if you dont pay it's a $117.00 fine, and a chase from a camaro cop car... Almost worth it to see them get on it

North Carolina has a fleet of Z28 cop cars. When I was passing people, I did notice a tendency for other cars to get out of the way. The manager at the client site later told me that my car is exactly the same as their HP. On the way back, I saw one stopped alongside the otherside of the interstate, but couldn't tell it's color...looked dark.

I saw one of the FHP cars whip through the raised center island to pursue a vehicle. I'll have to admit that I cheer a bit when I see them in action

Thumbs up

A friend of mine pulled up next to an un-marked Z at a light. He rolled down the window and asked the cop if he wanted to run him.The cop said "hell yeah, but I'll have to give you a ticket when we're done".I might have paid the ticket just for the story........

I own a 98 z28 former Florida police car, bought for very short money, very well maintained, perfect body and now it's a low budget 2 seater project car with a fully articulated frame. Started as a hardtop stripper, it has No rattles or evidence of whatever hard use it might have had now that it's done. Don't count my labor and the chassis work added less than$800. I looked a long time at some real beaters but this was far from the only good one.Shop it and you'll hit a deal.
