A/C Help

Hey guys, I am clue less on air conditioning matters so I need some help. When i turn my a/c on i hear what I think is the compressor making a clicking noise. It still cools down great but the clicking is embarassing. . Of course when i shut it off it stops. I have a 99 Trans Am with 57k on it if that might help in determing my gremlin. Thanks guys.

ok you are going to open the hood and run the car with the ac on look at your compressor if it is clicking every time the clutch turns on and off this is normal.... however if it is clicking too much you may be low on freon there is a safety switch that when it detects it is low it will shot off the ac so it might be right at that point or border line
