A/C question...Please help
Guys...recently over the past month my air doesn't blow cold anymore. The fan speeds are the same and blow strong, it just refuses to blow nice cold air. I suspect I have a freeon(sp?) leak. I am under the assumption that the system is a closed system and cannot be fixed, only replaced....Please let me know the best course of action to fix this problem. As you can see, I live in Fl and cannot live without A/C. Thanks!!
Mike

Well, yes, you are correct - your A/C is a closed , pressurized system that is best left to someone who is familiar w/ them.
It is always advisable to start w/ the simple stuff - are there any visible oil leaks on the components you can see under the hood ?
Is the compressor coming on when you turn the switch to the A/C setting ?
If not, how about on defrost ?
( I.E. - is this an electrical problem ?)
Good luck !!

Its not bad to work on them, I have had my
system open to put on headers.. for less
than $20 you can get a gauge to see what
is going on.. here is some data and a few
pics for you..
